Upflow sand filter

Principle

A filter is a fluid filter that uses particles such as sand.
There is no need to backwash the filter particles because of the centrifugal force of the fluid, and suspended matters and particulate matters in the water can be effectively mixed, circulated and separated. The filtering water passes the filter (sand) from bottom to top.
The sludge filtered inside the filter is washed again after raising with the filtration separation washing unit through the airlifting pipe with sand. The sludge is separated and discharged, and washed sand moves to the center and input into the filter for circulation.

Operating principle

Filtration

Raw water moves up after being distributed evenly to the front of the filter layer by the distributor ② through the raw water supply pipe.

When raw water rises through the filtration layer, the high density suspended solids (SS) are removed and raw water becomes clean filtered water, which overflows the over flow weir ④ and discharged to the outflow pipe ⑤.

Cleaning

When the filter medium ⑥, which collected the contaminants, passes through the filtration, it flows into the air lift pipe ⑧ by the inhaled air of ⑦, and rises.

The filter medium, water, and air rises inside the air lift pipe at different speeds, and the SS and media are separated at this time.

The separated SS is discharged to ⑫.

The cleaned filter medium ⑪ forms a new filtration layer uniformly on top of the dispersed filter media layer by CON.
