When suspension with floating matter is left motionlessly, dense materials sink to the bottom slowly due to the influence of gravity and less dense materials move to the upper layer slowly, which is called sedimentation. Sedimentation can be accelerated easily using centrifugal force instead of gravity, which is called centrifugation. The centrifuge generally refers to the machine used to separate, purify and concentrate materials with different ingredients or specific gravity using the principle of centrifugation.
The crude liquid is supplied to the rotating body through the supply pipe, and receives centrifugal force thousands of times its gravity. This centrifugal force causes the solids in the crude liquid to settle and deposit on the inner side of the rotating body. Then, the solids are transported to the cone by the screw conveyor, and dehydrated and discharged. In addition, the separated liquid is purified and discharged to the end of the cylinder.
